Integrated emission modelling for the Port of Antwerp-Bruges

The Port of Antwerp-Bruges must report emissions to air and water while addressing emerging contaminants with limited source knowledge.

VITO developed the integrated EISS model, combining air and water emission calculations using one consistent activity dataset. We also analysed emission sources of selected emerging contaminants.

Through a long-term agreement, VITO ensures maintenance, updates and hosting so that the port now has one spatially explicit tool for reporting and policy support. VITO provides the scientific backbone and ensures the model remains future-proof.
