Marine ecosystems are shaped by complex interactions between nature, human activities, and policy. Decision-makers need transparent tools to understand the consequences of different policy choices.
Within the Horizon Europe project DiverSea, VITO co-developed the MARBIOSE dashboard. It combines scientific knowledge, monitoring data, and System Dynamics models to explore scenarios and visualise the impact of policy decisions on marine ecosystems.
VITO developed the System Dynamics models and methodology behind the dashboard. Users value MARBIOSE as an intuitive decision-support tool that helps justify policy choices, discuss scenarios, and communicate complex information with policy makers, industry, academia, and local communities.
